Carver College of Medicine Pathway to Excellence Award
Designed to enhance recruitment of outstanding PhD candidates, the award offers $10,000 to new doctoral students who are admitted to a biomedical science program. Candidates for the Pathway to Excellence Award are given half the funds after matriculation into the graduate program and the other half upon successful completion of the doctoral comprehensive exam.
Supplement for External Fellowship Program
The Supplement for External Fellowship (SEF) Program is intended for PhD students who obtain individual, competitive extramural fellowships of $10,000 or more making them eligible to receive a supplement to their stipend of $2,000 per year.
The SEF is provided for the lifetime of the fellowship award or until the graduate appointment is terminated, whichever comes first.
Carver College of Medicine Trainee Scholar Award
Graduate students with a first-author publication are eligible for the Trainee Scholar Award which can be used for the following:
- Participation in on-site or online educational events.
- Reimbursement of expenses related to registration or travel for a conference, meeting, or workshop.
- An event involved with the collection of data or advancement of an active research project.
